CHAMPIONSHIP PEDIGREE Many riders in recent years have used Specialized bicycles in the North American and European professional cycling circuit. Team Gerolsteiner and Quick Step-Innergetic are riding the Tarmac (a full carbon fiber composite road bike) in the Tour de France. Team Gerolsteiner equips their bikes with Shimano components while Quick Step-Innergetic uses Campagnolo components with roval wheels by Specialized. Specialized has also equipped Manuel Hochbauer, the Bavarian cyclist (Team Parsberg) and champion of the German HC. Now that’s a resume!! Specialized bikes also sponsor the University of Georgia. A REVOLUTION ON CYCLING We, at Montclair Bikery, know their history. In 1981, Specialized revolutionized the biking industry by introducing mountain bikes to the general public. The mountain bike Specialized sold that year, the StumpJumper, was such an important and groundbreaking product that an original model is on display in the Smithsonian Institute. Their company motto also introduced in 1981 is ‘Innovate or Die’.  Their mission statement created in 1974 by founder Mike Sinyard is: ‘To give everyone the best ride of their life’ and it remains as such today and in 1988 Mike Sinyard, the company CEO was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame!

At Specialized, building bikes isn't a job. As they’re fond of saying, “It’s a full-bore, hardcore religion. A religion that's has helped us evolve as a company and as riders over the last 20 years.
